If you’re interested in joining Team Avery, please send your cover letter and résumé to team @ averyanthology.org. Please note the desired position in the subject line of your e-mail. Familiarity with Avery’s publishing catalog is a plus. Mean and/or unmotivated people need not apply.
READER
We’re looking for readers who can commit to reading at least a dozen submissions per week. Applicants must demonstrate a passionate proclivity for current fiction and must have at least one year’s experience reading submissions for a literary magazine, agent, or publisher.
INTERN
Our future intern wants to be creative and help generate/implement exciting ideas. Our interns will help us organize a variety of things: fun events, literary outreaches, and ho-hum documents. Interns may also be readers. If you’re familiar with Microsoft Excel and the Adobe line of programs, we’d probably do cartwheels. Keep in mind that this is not a buffet-style internship; interns will get a chance to participate in most of the myriad steps of publishing a literary magazine. However, emphasis may be given to projects and tasks that align with the intern’s field of study or area of professional interest.
